We are about to complete the solid year 2019, android enthusiasts are already preparing their geeky brains to welcome Android Q. Here is everything you need to know.
Android Q beta program is already up and running. Google launched Android P for Pie on August 6th, 2018. It’s been more than a year now. Android Enthusiasts are already looking for Android Q beta update.
People are having more expectations on Android Q beta features. According to a recent survey, many people are not that satisfied with the features that are being provided with every Android update.
As said in the Android Q beta timeline, Google released Final beta version of Android Q on 7th August 2019 for the public. Android Q beta is available to download for Pixel devices.
Company is claiming that the new Android Q beta update has equipped with stronger protections for users privacy, new ways to engage users. They also said that Android Q will give extended support for foldables as foldable smartphones era is emerging. Also with Vulkan extensions.
Gesture navigation was one of the hot topics in this release. Google refined gesture navigation to get better user interaction.

Google kept developers in mind as a priority. A lot of new security implementations like
- Improved biometric authentication dialogs
- Run embedded DEX code directly from APK
- TLS 1.3 support
- Public Conscrypt API

Keeping privacy in mind Google has introduced a bundle of privacy features like
- New limits on access to files in shared external storage.
- User option to allow access to device location only while using your app in the foreground.
- New restrictions on launching activities from the background without user interaction.
- New rules on access to full camera metadata, and FINE location permission.

What’s in Beta 6?
Android Q Beta 6 is equipped with Android Q system images for Pixel and Android Emulator. Also contains the final API 29 SDK and updated build tools for Android Studio.
This build has all the behavior features and other API and privacy features as well. They have also made optimizations to gesture control in this build.
As consumer release is very soon, Google is suggesting all the app developers test their app in Android Q Beta as well.

If you own an android app then its time to test it for Android Q and Enhance your app with the new features. In this build, there is a 200dp vertical app exclusion limit for the Back gesture. Google shouted at I/O It will standardize gesture navigation as there are thousands of it.
